Pet Poison Helpline


The Pet Poison Helpline is made up of a team of dedicated veterinary health professionals and toxicologists to help veterinarians and pet owners to treat potentially poisoned pets, 24 hours a day. Registering a poisoned pet with the Pet Poison Helpline costs just $35. This fee includes expert treatment advice for a variety of pet species including: dogs, cats, birds, small mammals and exotic pets. It also includes follow-up consultations.



24PetWatch is a free pet identification network which registers your pet in the 24PetWatch database, according to your animal's microchip identification number. If your pet is lost you can call the 24PetWatch line 24-hours a day, 7 days a week. A pet recovery specialist will search the database of veterinary clinics, animal shelters and animal control agencies to quickly reunite you with your pet.

ASPCA National Animal Poison Control Center


The ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center is the foremost animal-oriented poison control center in North America. This facility is staffed by 25 veterinarians, 10 veterinarian technicians and 5 veterinary toxicologists, who offer specific treatment advice, 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. A consultation fee of $50 applies.

National Pet Care Information Line


This 24-hour pet information phone line provides free pre-recorded information on over 125 pet care topics, such as distemper, heartworm, behavioral problems, house training and more. This service is available to pet owners worldwide.

The Humane Society of the United States


Provides contact information concerning regional HSUS branches and animal welfare programs.



SPAY USA is a national organization that provides low cost spay/neuter programs. It may be able to help you set up spay/neuter clinics and spay/neuter pet education seminars in your community.
