Nutrience

Nutrience is produced by Hagen, which was founded in 1955 as a one-man operation in Montreal. It is manufactured by Rolf C. Hagen Inc. The name Nutrience was formed by merging the terms “Nutrition” and “Science”, which is the logic behind their formulas

Nutrience is only sold in Canada, Europe and Australia. Nutrience slowly developed in Ontario, Canada and is now the brand leader in the independent pet trade sales channel. Their dog and cat food are available in dry and canned formulas, treats and biscuits. Their food is formulated to meet the standards set by the AAFCO to ensure a complete and balanced diet.

Nutrience focus on five major categories to produce proper nutrients, they include: protein, carbohydrate, fat, vitamins, minerals and water.

They use chicken meal, dehydrated chicken and egg protein in their formulas for protein and corn meal and rice for carbohydrates. Lamb and duck meal is used as a protein for dogs with allergies.

The ingredients are more digestible than others, which leads to smaller meals and fewer stools to clean up. The vitamins and minerals added to the food ensure a well-balanced diet. Nutrience also includes a variety of herbal supplements in their pet foods, including mint, chicory, fenugreek, ginger, parsley and yucca schidigera. The yucca shidigera decreases odors - you will thank them later.

They have an incredible variety of foods for both dogs and cats, including Nutrience Original, Nutrience Supreme and Nutrience Senior formulas in different colored bags. The dog formulas are different depending on their size, from small, medium, large, and giant. Their cat formulas are different depending on whether your cat is a long haired, short haired or domestic cat.

Nutrience also offers a diet formula for overweight cats and dogs. Pets, like humans, suffer from obesity and need modified diets to help get their weight down to a healthy level. The Nutrience Diet formula is made with L-Carnitine, a supplement that encourages the body to burn fat cells by raising the metabolism.

They recommend a seven day transition period from the old brand to Nutrience.

The shelf life for dry formulas is 15 months.
